These tide pools were once home to an ancient temple to the goddess Hi'ilani. After suffering irreparable damage from the elements, the temple was abandoned to be buried by the sands and tides. The pools now serve as a home to a small, nomadic mermaid colony who wish to remain secluded from human society.
