The oldest #oak in #Newcrest, declared the "Mother #Tree" was about to be cut down to make a bar. But the people of Newcrest protested and got the land the Mother Tree was on turned into a park named Old Oak Park which protected the tree. After a while, the park was #forgotten and fell to #ruin, not being maintained. Now the city is ready to hand it back to private hands since it's not providing anything and the Mother Tree will fall.
