From the era of High Mage Weazelthorp, The Iron Pixie is named for iron works provided by pixies--it was difficult to get their cooperation so there isn't actually that much iron, but it was a coup for Weazelthorp and secured the position as the highest of the high since no other mage could get the pixies to even listen.
