After her husband, Freddie Holister, died from pufferfish poisoning while she was pregnant, Brooke Hoyt raised her son, Freddy Holister, alone until he married his girlfriend, Toni, and had children of his own. However, both he and his wife died (him by drowing and her by sauna) and so Brooke was left to raise her twin grandchildren, Lacie and Isaac, alone.
