Don Jaime Capistrano owned this ancestral home from 1862 to 1894. With its magnificent facade, it was considered that the house was ahead of its time. The Great Fire of 1894 burned down most of the houses in the main square, including Don Jaime's. During the American occupation, the Americans decided to restore the property in its original state and turn it into a public library.
