Far from prying eyes, the abbey of the Sisters of Quiet Mercy is a recluse place for societies undesirables. The abbey has sheltered orphans, lepers, and unwanted relatives for more than a century. It's not uncommon to find a bundle or basket on their doorstep holding the child of a wanton woman or the product of an illicit love affair.
