I built 6 houses! I wrote 6 bedroom because there is one per house (plus a nursery!) and 6 bathrooms even though some have two. I try to put enough skill items so your sims won't be bored. I like playing in fake apartmens/fake neighbourhood; i usually lock doors for anyone but the sims living there. Might be a bit annoying when you have guests over but it's fun like this!
