The Newcrest Pool and Rec. used to be just an icerink where figureskating competitions used to be held. The legendary Katarina Simkoljska won the olympics in figureskating in this exact building! And to commemorate her win she designed the IceLama, an award which is still craved by figureskaters all around the world and can only be won in the Newcrest games held every third year!
