#asylumchallenge / Initially built as a short-term convalescence home for soldiers, the home was later acquired by a hospital and retrofitted to house long-term PTSD cases. The first civilian patient arrived 12 years later. Now the facility almost exclusively services serious mental illness, based on its innovative extended rehabilitation plan of integration with nature and cooperative work. /
