Santiago and Emilia moved to Courtyard Lane in Willow Creek as soon as their house went on sale. In this home they raised Emiliano, a well rounded and well liked child. It was a proud yet sad day when he eventually left for University. Later, Emilia decided to quit her writing job and opened up an Ice Cream Shop- While Santiago contemplated on retiring from being a well decorated military man. Despite Emiliano's absence, the Cortes's are living happily together in their old home.
