Vanessa hates being a vampire and therefore, vegan. The dad resents that she is ungrateful for being a part of the dark side, but her mother loves her for who she is. The problem with that is that the dad thinks the mom hates her. Hugo, the little boy, is more on the feminine side, and his dad hates that too.
