Due to a lack of financial stability Don and Ruby were forced to put their son Rocco up for adoption. As a baby, he was adopted by the Sheldons, an elderly couple that lived on a reclusive uphill farm away from town. For his whole life Rocco was sure that his parents were Francis and Charlene, until his teenage birthday when he met the Rankins for the first time.
