Zulia is a red blooded human girl, but she was adopted as a child by an alien family. She grew up happy, devowering all the books she could, but do to her odd upbringing she feels a little out of place in the human world. Still she gets along well enough, but when she went to collage she was horrified to find that there was little belief in aliens, and even less medical care.
