Miles and Liberty were neighbors growing up - their moms were best friends. After high school, they moved to the mountains together so Miles could pursue his a "career" in snowboarding (but really, Liberty supported the whole family with her bestselling novels). Their kids, Dax and Dexter, are total opposites and always getting on each others nerves. Go figure.
