He was half way home when he remembered his jacket. He knocked on the door and a man came and said "My daughter died a year ago today." He went to the cemetary and his jacket was draped across a tombstone that read Laurie drowned on her 16th birthday. This urban legend was brought to life in a song by Dickey Lee in 1965.
