Hitra is an old witch with arthritis living in the woods by herself, brewing her potions. But one day that all changes. She stumbles upon the teenager Cornelia, an orphan living at the orphanage. Hitra immediately sees great magical potential in the girl. Perhaps it's faith, perhaps she wants an apprentice to pass down her knowledge to, or needs someone to help out at home.
