But Yiska was a boy, and therefor didn't earn much in fairness of food in their tribe, making him very weak when the twins grew older, and may have been the reason why he is unable to have children. With someone considered useless in their tribe, the tribe's Creator thought it'd be best to put Yutu's brother to death. Yutu sought to save him, causing her banishment, yet letting him escape.
