I wanted to create (initially for an online challenge) a more culturally appropriate version of the Disney Princess Pocahontas, and her companion Meeko the #Raccoon . I believe the original Disney version overly sexualizes the image of indigenous women, and completely misappropriates the real story of Pocahontas, or "Amonute" as she was called, and later by her 'Christian' name Rebecca Rolfe.
