There is a myth on Sulani that once upon a time a mermaid named Mariana - once good - fell in love with a land creatue. She fell pregant, much to the disappointmet of her family who then cursed Sulani. WIth only the land-creature to turn to she moved above water to live with the "humans" only to be abandoned and forgotten by her true love leaving her to raise a child alone in the mysterious land of Sulani, leaving her distraught.
