I wouldn't say that Gretchen is your typical mermaid, preferring to spend most of her time on land than in the sea. She moved far away from Sulani, not far enough to be stuck in the icky swamp water of Willow Creek, and not so far that she will dry out in Oasis Springs, a middle ground, Newcrest, yes it's empty but thanks to the mayor homes are starting to be built so she is getting more neighbors.
