The second season, spent in 1964, follows the patients, doctors and nuns, who occupy the Briarcliff Manor, founded by Monsignor Timothy Howard to treat insane criminals. The institution is run by Sister Jude and Sister Mary Eunice. Psychiatrist Dr. Oliver Thredson and scientist Dr. Arthur Arden treat patients within the facility.
