The African Wild Dog, also known as the Painted Dog, Cape Dog, and many other names, is a large canid native to sub-Saharan Africa. African Wild Dogs are extremely social animals, even moreso than lions and spotted hyenas, with a complex social structure with separate dominance hierarchies for males and females. They've even been known to "vote" on whether or not to go hunting by using sneezes! Unfortunately, the species is Endangered with only about 6,600 remaining, #AfricanWildDog #PaintedDog
