Theonia and her people were once faries who were at war with a coven of witches. The witches placed a curse on the faries, which turned them into a half fairy and half goblin hybrid with immortality. Theonia is given a box along with a key. She is told that she can break the curse at any time, but there is a catch. If the curse is broken, only she will revert back to being a fairy, while the rest of her people will die.
