Diogenes Of Sinope

Diogenes (410? BC - 323 BC) was a Greek philosopher. He rejected the cultural norms of his time and took to sleeping in a large ceramic jar in the marketplace. He was called Diogenes the Dog or Diogenes the Cynic because of his uncultured lifestyle. Diogenes declared himself 'a citizen of the world' rather than allegiance to any one place. His philosophy was passed on to form the basis for the school of Stoicism. He was critical of Plato for misinterpretating Socrates. #man #philosopher
