Jasper and Opal Aban are very recent orphans and their grandmother is unable to protect them alone. Jasper is self-assured and learning to hate vampires. Opal is an absolute charmer. She might just grow up to be just as much of a siren as her mother. Did I actually kill their parents? Yes. Did I name the parents Mama and Papa? Also yes.
