The Gaunts are a well off happy family. Who decided to move to a new, bigger house because they soon wil have four childeren. This to the distaste of their two oldest childeren, Oliver en Eliza who think their parents are way to old to have another child. Their now youngest child James doesn't think about this much because he is way to scared of finding ghostst in this new house. So the happy part is debatable.
