This lovely lady is based off of one of my favorite writers. Her name is Gertrude Bonnin, or Zitkala-Sa. She was a wonderful author, musician, teacher, and political activist. She founded the National Council of American Indians, and worked tirelessly throughout her life to help others. All of her work is truly remarkable, and I thoroughly enjoyed making this!
