As soon as Velez reached her 17th birthday, she ran off to Del Sol Vallay to pursue a job as an actress. Her childhood lessons in gymnastics made her a perfect stunt double early in her career, but her desire to be a star caused her dream to tumble...much like the main actress did from a flight of stairs in the last movie Velez was cast in.
