After Umikos pod was captered by whalers off the coats of Japan. Umiko decided to leave the sea. Fearing the Japanese government knew she was a Siren, Umiko fled to Strangerville. One day while bathing in a lake a few miles from town, Amos spoted Umiko. He apporched her, offering the protection of The Bazaar.
