Talia found Lira with an old woman on Lothal who would buy slave children to try and give them normal lives. Talia stayed with this old woman while gathering information about her runaway brother. When Talia was ready to leave the old woman asked her to take Lira with her to give her a better life. Talia and Lira become inseparable in time.
