Sharon Marie Tate was born on the 24th of January 1943. She was an actress, but is also recognised as one of the "it" girls of the sixties, and is still renowned for her beauty. She was married to director Roman Polanski, and, on the 9th of August, a mere two weeks away from giving birth to their unborn son, was murdered at their home in Los Angeles, by members of the Charles Manson "family".
