Here is a household with a Sim that i like and a dog breed most people and i think is adorable: A Chinese Crested. Stephanie likes to go to venues sometimes and mostly hang out with her dog Kody. This uses no Mods. only some expansion packs. Even if you don't own the packs this uses, you can still load the household! It works, just removes the un-owned expansion pack clothing and features.
