Mari is a Military Specialist assigned to guard a high value asset, Fry the Alien, a “botanical specialist” who crashed in StrangerVille releasing a dangerous alien plant that he was carrying, Fry and Mari defeated the Mother plant, during which time they fell for each other and became romantic partners.
