If the 50s saw a push for more a traditional world, the 1960s was the rebellion. Beatlemania driving all girls crazy, the assassination of JFK and MLK jr. and the moon landing in 1969, the world was in a new forfront of history. Along side came the human rights movements, the sexual revolution and anti-war sentimant many youths began to identify themselfs as hippies.
