Originally, Princess Ashe was arranged to be married to Prince Rasler, however during their supposed marriage, the Archadian Empire attacked their kingdom. Prince Rasler was killed and Princess Ashe barely escaped with her life thanks to Reks' help. They hid their identity and pretended to be a travelling couple until they encounter Vaan and company.
