American Staffordshire
The American Staffordshire Terrier was bred from bulldogs terriers, used for the sport of bull baiting, When bull baiting was banned, it was brought to America as a leaner dog than the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. The breed was used as a farm dog to pull heavy equipment, keep cattle at bay, and hunt rodents. It was also kept as a companion dog, then later entered in dog shows. 17" -19" tall, 40 -70 lbs.
