Carmilla is the first vampire and thus titled "Selene the Mother of Vampires". She was cursed by a jealous witch having an affair with her husband Cain. They meant for her to die but to their horror she came back undead and looking for revenge. Because of her love for Cain he became a vampire too and now she has to see his face for the rest of eternity.
