Well, the backstory is that Melissa is the adopted daughter of Elisa and Trevor. Paris is the normal daughter who is treated better that Melissa. One day Melissa was prepared to have to do Paris's chores (Again) when she saw the most adorable dog in the allyway, and she decided to take him and treat him as her own. That dog would be Axel.
