Colonel Archibald Gracie was a first-class passenger aboard the titanic. During the sinking, he escorted two women directly to a lifeboat, helped release Collpapsible B, was pushed off the boat when water arrived, was pulled against suction going into an exhaust fan-twice, and blown out by hot air, nearly crushed by the funnel, nearly pulled into the whirpool caused by said funnel, and finally ended up on Collapsible B again!
