She's the daughter of two immigrants who migrated from the big city to have a calmer life at Sulani. Even though Sydney is Sulani native, she's always been misjudged for an outsider. Her whole life, she's wanted to prove she's a proper native as much as the rest! That's why she wants to be part of the Maui lifeguards and win the respect of her collegues and fellow islanders.
