Peter was born and raised in the Swiss Alps, high in the mountains. Although Peter and Heidi went their separate ways after high school, they stayed in touch by postcards. Heidi went to Frankfurt to work for Clara. Peter stopped working as a goatherd and became a researcher at the National Park.
