Echo is one of a group of men and women who can be imprinted with identities, personalities, skills and memories in order to be sent out on engagements. After engagements they live in the Dollhouse with no memories of thier pasts. Echo is the only active to become self-aware piecing together a full working self and became an actual person who can't have her memories erased.
