Nereida was left on the steps of Newcrest Church as a baby. She went into the orphanage, however as it became apparent that something was different with her, she never got adopted. As Newcrest grew into a respectable town, the orphanage closed as there where no more children to rehome. In a last attempt to rehome Nereida before ending on the streets, they made contact with Jerry.
