This is Bernard Pond. His wife had died when she was still really young. they had an son together, Tom. Bernard had been an English teacher but is now retired, he does earn some money by selling his paintings. Tom was marrried to Lilith and they had Oliver. When Oliver was just one year old, Tom died in a car accident. Lilith got into a depression and Bernard had to take care of her and Oliver.
