Martin was married to a loving wife. She was infertile and they had continuous miscarriages until one stuck. While giving birth, his wife passed away. He continued to raise his daughter as a single dad. Martin was a professional surfer and he raised his daughter to be one as well. At the young age of 15 his daughter passed after a shark attack while on the waves. Martin now wears his daughter's necklace every day in reminder of his child.
