Donato was a gardener, Maria was a gardener, so were Jose and Claudia before the family moved into the city. Although Donato still gardens in his old age, Maria has retired. Claudia is more interested in starting her own family than working. Jose doesn't know what he wants out of life so he just works his time away and supports his family.
