Unfortunanly, Caren was never able to consive. Karen and Edward was a carrier driven cuple in their younger days, so it never really bothered them not being able to grow a family. But they are bouth getting old and wished for someone to carrie on their legacy. They adopted as a child that they raised to be a teen.
