Dean was an evil vampire before he met his first wife, Sadie, who was human. When they fell in love, Dean stopped feeding on humans and became a good vampire. Other vampires didn't want their friend "going soft" so a few weeks after Sadie gave birth to Dean's child, they found and killed her. Dean managed to run away with his tomboy daughter, Calypso, and they've been running ever since. Maybe it's time to try love again.
