Konstantin Chernenko
#KonstantinChernenko (24 September 1911 – 10 March 1985) was a #Soviet #politician and the #leader of the #Union of Soviet #Socialist #Republics from 13 February 1984 until his #death on 10 March 1985. He supported a greater #role for the #labour #unions, and #reform in #education and #propaganda. In #foreign #policy, he negotiated a #trade #pact with #China. But due to his rapidly #failing #health, he was often #unable to fulfill his #official #duties as the leader of the #SovietUnion.
