Based off a heart-ripping anime. Shouko Nishimiya is deaf and doesn't speak very well. She carries a notebook around so others can write to her and she can preserve friendly conversation. Shoya is semi-popular until his classmates throw him under the bus (so to speak). He becomes outcast and reserved, unable to socialize very well with other people.
